Google Webmaster Tool helps in analysing your blog performance. Webmaster tool is very handy to use for bloggers. It is very important to add your blog to google webmaster tool, to regularly check the activity of google on your blog. In wordpress, it is easy to add blog to webmaster tool with the use of plugins. But, blogger blogs need few steps to add and verify the blog in google webmaster tools. Below are the step by step guide to help to add your blog to google webmaster tool.
Steps to add and verify blog in blogger in Webmaster tool.
Step 1.
First you have to log in to your gooGoo wapmaster tools account using your gmail ID. Once, you have logged in you will come a page like it is shown below. In this page, we has to add you blog URL, in the blank space. Once you have added your blog URL, just click ADD A PROPERTY.
Step 2
Once you have added your blog URL, you will come to below page to verify your ownership of your blog. Here, you can see I have added my blog and it is asking to verify my ownership. Now, just click the Alternate methods tab, here you four options to verify your ownership. Just click the first option for HTML tag. In below image, you can see a meta tag with a content ID. Now, just copy this Meta tag or name.
Step 3
This is the most important step in blogger for verification. Once, you have copied the meta tag, you have to paste this meta tag in your blog HTML code. Just log in to your blogger blog and come to the dashboard. Click Template and edit HTML code.
Dashboard -> Template-> Edit HTML
Now, search for the code <head> in the HTML code by Ctrl+F. In below image you can see the <head> in top only. Now, just paste the Meta tag below <head>. Once you paste the Meta tag, Save the template.
Now, go back to webmaster tool and click Verify button. It should say successfully verified the blog ownership.
